William L. McDonald Jr. "Buddy", age 86 of Hempstead, Texas passed away on July 10, 2019. He is preceded in death by father William L. McDonald Sr., mother Dorotha Holm McDonald, stepson Danny Sample, grandsons J.W. Sample and Curtis Sample, and is survived by wife Shelby Jean McDonald of 62 years; son David McDonald and wife Jan; sister Viola Kirby; grandchildren Erica McDonald Henley, Brooke McDonald; great grandchildren Savannah Sample, Dannie Lynn Sample, Jaxson Henley and Maddox Henley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as other beloved family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 9-10 am at Canon Funeral Home with Funeral Services following at 10 am with Pastor Evelyn Cox officiating.  Interment will follow at 3 pm at Harwood Cemetery in Harwood, TX.
