William K. Bright, age 71 of Hockley passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Bright; and survived by his son, William K. Bright II and wife Sonya; daughter, Pamela Ware and husband Tom; grandchildren, Justin Bright and wife Lauren and Colby Bright and Steven Ware; great grandchildren, Oakleigh and Lynden Bright as well as other family members and friends.
Bill was born to William Charles and Audrey Anges Bright on February 18, 1945 in Hamilton, Ohio. He joined the United States Navy in 1963 where he was a First Machinist Mate aboard the USS St. Paul.
Later he became a law enforcement officer. He served as a Grimes County Deputy, Waller County Constable, Precinct 2 and was currently serving as a Code Enforcement Officer for Magnolia Police Department.
Bill was a thirty second degree Mason and Scottish Rite. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Masonic Lodge #380 for many years, but was most recently a member of the Reagan Masonic Lodge #1037 in the Houston Heights.
Visitation will be at Canon Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 5-7 pm. Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 10am at Canon Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Fieldstore Cemetery.
