Venita "Nita" Diane Mehrkam, age 75 passed away on Friday February 28, 2025, at Tomball Hospital.  She fought the stigma of mental illness and diabetes throughout her full life.

Venita was born August 4, 1949, in Houston, Texas to Welton and Earline Mehrkam. Nita is my older sister but throughout her life my parents and I cared for her in a loving environment on our Waller farm.

We will miss her easy laugh, her appreciation of all things associated with cats, her obsession with clothes and jewelry, her love of Mexican food and catfish dinners, Hallmark movies, her love of all sweets and her pride in all her nieces and nephews.

Nita is survived by her sister, Pamela Saladino and wonderful brother-in-law Lenny, as well as her nieces and husbands, Leslie and Baron Concors, Lauren and Chris Crites, Lindsey and Erik Gray and great nieces and nephews, Caroline, Carter, Claire, Beckett, Zoe, Gabriella, Gavin, and Giavanna.

A loving thank you to special angels Rosa Alvarez and Sheila Randle as well as the very kind staff at Southern Knights Assisted Living who cared for Nita so well the past two years.

There will be a private family memorial/burial at a future date in Canon Mathis Cemetery, Waller, Texas.
