Sue Ralston passed away on March 10, 2015 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She was surrounded by her loving family and is now at home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sue was born Jacqueline Sue DeArment to Sidney and Corry DeArment in Dallas, Texas on June 28, 1937. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Lazelle DeArment Rainey, and a brother Jerry Sidney DeArment. Sue is survived by her husband Owen Ralston, Sr., a daughter Wanda Sue Comodeca and her husband Michael of Overland Park, Kansas, a son Owen Ralston Jr. of Waller, grandsons David (Hannah) and Matthew (Skylar) Comodeca and granddaughter Jennifer Comodeca. She is also survived by two sisters, Louise Feuerbacher and Jane Sherrell of Irving, Texas, and sister-in-law Eddie Lou DeArment, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Sue and Owen met in 1962 while attending First Baptist Church in Galveston. At the time, Sue was a nursing student at UTMB. They were married on August 2, 1963 in Phoenix, Arizona. They moved to Galveston, and subsequently lived in Texas City, League City and Seoul, Korea, before eventually settling in Waller in 1995.

Sue earned her bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from UTMB Galveston in 1978 and was the outstanding graduate in her class. She worked as an Occupational Therapist in the Clear Creek School District and as a Therapist at UTMB.

Sue made it her life's work to see everyone as God saw them. She looked not at their outward appearance, but at their heart. She had a special love for children, and made it her life's work to help any child she met to make the most of the life God had given them. We are confident that the first words Sue heard as she left this world were from Jesus telling her "well done, good and faithful servant."

Visitation will be Friday, March 13, 2015 from 5-8pm. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 14 at 2pm at Canon Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow at Hempstead Cemetery.
