Steve was born in Chappell Hill Texas on January 27, 1954 to Steve Gurrola Sr. and Martha Figuero.

Steve loved being around his family and friends. He could make anyone laugh. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone he could. Steve loved all Houston Sports teams, but especially the Texans. He enjoyed sitting outside enjoying the fresh air. Most times if you went by his house you could find him sitting under his canopy listening to music and having a drink. He liked to fish and just go riding around. Steve will truly be missed by so many.

Steve is survived by his brothers Pat Gurrola, James Hickson, Brian Hickson; sisters Stephanie Gurrola, Patricia Carr, Darla Montalvo; children Johnny Paul Gurrola, Tiffany Gonzalez and husband Daniel Gonzalez; grandchildren Trevor Gurrola, Preston Gurrola, Destiny Peña, Nathaniel Gonzalez; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Steve is preceded in death by his father Steve Gurrola Sr., mother Marhta Figuero, and brother John Paul Gurrola.

Serving as pallbearers will be Trevor Gurrola, Preston Gurrola, Johnny Sandoval, Pat Gurrola, Martine Ramirez, and Piere Ragston.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 4-6pm with a Rosary at 6pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, March 15, 2021 at 10am at Canon Funeral Home with Deacon John Pelletier officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Hempstead.
