Rosie Vela passed away at her home in Sandy, Utah on Friday, December 29th, 2017 at the age of 78. Rosie is preceded by her parents Rachel and Alex Ybarra, and husband Jesse Vela, and brothers Joe Ybarra and Nick Ybarra and sister Silvia Hernandez and is survived by daughter Kimberly Ging, son-n-law Robert Ging and grandchildren Steven, Timothy, and Matthew Ging and granddaughter Jessica Wilson. Brother Tom Ybarra and sister-n-law Mary Ybarra, and sisters, Mary Sklar, Dorothy Sierra, Josie Lynch, and Lucille Buchanan and brother-n-law Robert Buchanan, and her little dog Peppy.

Rosie lived in Waller, Texas for over 30 years and was very active in the church. She was a regular volunteer at Kate's Kitchen. Rosie retired from Telxon Corporation as a Test Department Manager. Rosie loved her family more than life itself. She loved to cook, bake, listen to music, dance and travel. She was an avid game player and liked to play dominoes, cards and train.

The funeral service will be held at St. Katharine Drexel in Hempstead, Texas on January 20th at 10:00 a.m., 800 Farm to Market Rd. 1488, Hempstead, Texas 77445. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Hwy 159, Hempstead, Texas 77445.
