Robert "Bob" Prewitt, of Waller, Texas was born July 24, 1951 in Houston, Texas. He passed away on January 13, 2021 at Memorial Hermann Hospital at the age of 69. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clim and MaryAnn Prewitt; sister, Dorothy Trainer and husband Tom; brother Bill Prewitt; and brother-in-law, Tom Trainer. He is survived by brothers, Mike Prewitt, Pat (Leanna) Prewitt; sisters, Kathy Bingham, Geralyn (Don) Benner and Mary (John) Shanley; as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Bob lived a very full life and had recently retired from Diamond Refractory in 2017.

Bob, Slap, Prew and Robert are some of the names we all know him as.  Bob' s family knew at a young age, he was unique. By all rights, he shouldn't even have survived an almost drowning when he was 4 years old, saved by his father out of the pond at Herman Park. He also had tumor removed from his leg at a very young age, that scared the life out of all of us.  He loved going skiing with the neighbors during his teenage years. After graduating from Mt. Carmel High School, Bob had several jobs that allowed him to practice on the bucking barrel that his brother Mike had built down the street.  This is what led to Bob's true lifelong passion. Rodeos and Bull Riding. As a bull rider, Bob followed the rodeo's and met so many friends that have been with him over the years.  Bob's mom decided to come watch him ride one time and one time only! Wouldn't you know, Bob got hung up on that bull and thrown across the arena, he stood up, waved at his mom and walked behind the shoots. For a man who hated pain, he sure chose a painful passion!

Bob was very involved in The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo over the years and enjoyed seeing the youth that were involved in the rodeo.  He was the first to sponsor, attend and promote the young folks as much as he could. He loved giving to others and as his family grew so did the giving!

Bob retired from Diamond Refactory as a gunite specialist and later was promoted to foreman. Bob loved retirement and would say when you called him, I am sitting in my chair with my breakfast tacos and watching my shows and loving it!

Bob loved his family, extended family, friends and God. His smile was infectious and will be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you donate to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship

Visitation will be Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 12-1pm at Canon Funeral Home  Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 1pm at Canon Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
