Raymond Wayne Mays was born in Waller County on October 9, 1934. He passed from this life peacefully on February 18, 2021. He was the youngest of 5 boys and the last survivor.

He had worked for more than thirty years as the dryer operator at the Waller Rice Dryer.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father and mother John Cleve and Mary Mays and by his loving wife Carrie Mays, and his grandson Michael Mays.

Raymond is survived by daughter Melody Jezierski and husband Johnnie; sons James Mays and wife Kimberly, Larry Mays and wife Krystal, John Mays and wife Candy Allan Jones and wife Jennifer, and Rusty Jones.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Jimmie, Paul, Karen, Lisa, Chris, Shane, Kayla, Alexandra, Trevor, Joseph, Ashley, Shanna, Dennis, Steven, Dustin, Dillon, Deven, Michael, Ryan, John; 17 great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service for Raymond will be held at a later date.

Raymond is under the care of Canon Funeral Home.
