Obituary

Maurice Neal Wawarofsky, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 25, 2024, at the age of 92. Neal was born in Waller, Texas, to Wilhelm Oskar Wawarofsky and Mary Minnie Pohl Wawarofsky, on November 8, 1931. He attended Waller High School and graduated in 1949.

Neal would become the man of the house at the young age of 11, after the sudden loss of his father, who was a local farmer. Neal took on his father's farming role and continued to farm and ranch for more than 70+ years. He had seen so much change in his 92 years, from farming with a horse pulling a plow, to farming with huge, enclosed air-conditioned tractors.

On July 16, 1960, Neal married the love of his life, Miss Emma Louise Paben. Together, they had 2 children, a daughter, Lisa Ann Wawarofsky and a son, Troy Allen Wawarofsky.

Neal's hard work made him a successful cotton, corn and peanut farmer. He was also successful in raising cattle and swine, as local meat markets would request Neal's beef and pork for their businesses. Throughout his life, Neal held various agriculture leadership positions in Waller County. He was a devout Christian, and was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he remained heavily involved through the years.

Neal was a simple man, and his character spoke for itself. He was known as a hardworking, kindhearted, gentle man. His legacy are those he will leave behind. He taught his children and his grandchildren the true meaning of hard work, perseverance, kindness, and to always put your faith in the Lord.

Neal is preceded in death by his parents, Wilhelm Oskar Wawarofsky, and Mary Minnie Pohl Wawarofsky, his sister, Mabel Wawarofsky Fisher, and the love of his life for nearly 60 years, Emma Louise Wawarofsky.

Left to grieve the loss of this incredible man are his daughter, Lisa Ann Stasney, and husband, Alan, his son, Troy Allen Wawarofsky, and wife, Megan, his grandchildren, Samantha Stasney Zboril and husband Russ, Aaron Stasney, Jennifer Stasney, Madelyn Wawarofsky, Emma Wawarofsky, Hannah Wawarofsky, and Jack Neal Wawarofsky, as well as many other family members and friends.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 9 am to 10:30 am with the funeral to follow at 10:30 am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waller, Texas. Honored to be Pallbearers are Aaron Stasney, Jack Neal Wawarofsky, Wesley Paben, Robert Paben, Randy Newton and Russ Zboril.
