Murphy Styers, age 70 of Hempstead, Texas passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Anna Styers; brothers, Victor Styers, Jr., and Gerald Wayne Styers; and sister Shirley Marie Tompkins. Murphy is survived by his son, Blair Styers from Georgia; brothers, Lamar Styers and wife Zolene and Jimmy Styers and wife Loleen; sisters, Gladys Simmons and Carol Sue Thomas; as well as numerous nieces nephews and other family members.

Murphy retired from the US Air Force after proudly serving our country for 24 years. He served in both the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm.

A special thank you from the family to his nephews, Danny Tompkins and Stephen Thomas for their dedication to their Uncle Murphy.
