Melissa Jamie Gamez Cortes, age 42 of Hempstead, Texas passed away on August 31, 2021. She is preceded in death by her father Ricky W. Girton, infant son Zoe.

She is survived by her mother Patricia Girton; husband Alex Cortes; sons Alex Gamez, Zakkory Luttrell; brother Blake Eakin; grandchild Alexandria Jade Gamez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Per Melissa's wishes there will be no public services.

Melissa is in the care of Canon Funeral Home.
