On Monday, June 10th, Mary Joyce Chandler Brejcha loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was called to her heavenly home at the age of 79. Surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Joyce was third of eight children born on September 24, 1944 in Orlando, Florida to Noval and Myrtice Chandler. She grew up in Plymouth, Florida and attended Plymouth Baptist Church with her siblings and other family. She met her husband, Lawrence Brejcha in Rosehill, Texas in 1985. They were united in marriage on December 24, 1985 in Apopka, Florida. Joyce and Lawrence resided in Waller Texas during their 39 years of marriage and farmed various crops during that time.
Joyce graduated from Apopka Memorial High School in 1963. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Houston, Texas and worked for Oshman's Sporting Goods, The Western Company and other places during her working career. After retirement she enjoyed gardening, helping Lawrence around the farm and caring for her grandchildren. Her latest joy was the enlistment and graduation from boot camp of her granddaughter Sara in the United States Army.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Lawrence Brejcha, daughters, Kellie Borne (Darin) of Beaumont, Texas, Kimberly Bussell (Jody) of Louisiana, Susan Flukinger (Mark) of Waller, Texas, Lauren Brejcha Smith (fiancé Marty Pickett) of Waller, Texas, and son, Charles Brejcha of Waller, Texas.
Brothers, Billy Chandler of Eustis, Florida, Donnie Chandler of Sorrento, Florida, and Ricky Chandler of Apopka, Florida. Sisters, Martha Glass of Orlando, Ann Hart of Apopka, Florida, and Vennesa Smith of Buffalo, Texas.
Grandchildren, Kayla Moore of Beaumont, Texas, Lyndi Dinger of Beaumont, Texas, Private Second Class Sara Chandler King stationed at Fort Cavazos, Texas, Kody Thomas King of Whitesburg, Kentucky.
And five great grandchildren Daisy, Silas, Colsen, Rayna and Kyson.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Noval and Myrtice Chandler, brother, Joel Chandler, grandparents, Charles and Ruby Culbreth, Joseph and Mammie Chandler.
The Funeral service is scheduled for Friday, June 21st at 10:00 am at the Conquest Cemetery on Yothers Road, Zellwood Florida. Officiated by her brother-in-law, Ed Smith.
Arrangements are under the direction of Canon Funeral Home.
