Maria Socorro Banda, age 81 of Waller passed away on March 15, 2021. Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Macario and Olivia V. Garza, brothers; Victor Garza, Matias Garza and sister; Blanca Palacios. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Raymundo A. Banda; daughters, Jane M. Banda, Norma (Lucino) Cortez Valdez, and Corrina (Javier) Gonzalez; brothers, Macario, Jr. (Blanca) Garza, Arthur Garza, Joe Garza and Robert Garza; sisters, Lillian (James) Reyes and Yolanda Mares; and grandchildren, Jose Reyes, Andres Colunga, Maria V. Reyes, Javier R. Gonzalez, Cristobal Gonzalez and Olivia Gonzalez as well as many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, March 22, 2021 beginning at 4:00 pm and ending with the Rosary at 7:00 pm at Canon Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 23, 2021 T 10:00 am at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church in Hempstead with Father Xavier Bilavendiran officiating. There will be a private family interment.
