It is with a sad heart that my sister and I announce the death of our loving mother, Leola Howell Wright, who passed peacefully in her sleep early morning, Saturday, April 29, 2023, at age 103.  Graveside services will be  June 17, 11:00 AM at Fields Store Cemetery near Waller, Texas.

Survived by her brother Scott Howell (Charlotte), her daughter Angie Wright (Bob) and her son Keith Wright.  Preceding her in death were husband Martin Wright, daughter Lola Sherar, son-in-law James Sherar, and grandchild Stephen Sherar.

Leola grew up on a cattle ranch near Waller, Texas and graduated from Waller High School in 1937 where she met her eventual husband of fifty years, math teacher Martin Wright.

Mother lived most of her adult life in Houston where she was a devout member of First Methodist Church.  Her first job after moving to Houston was typist. She was also a gifted pianist, having  performed  at high school special events. After her three children were born, she taught piano lessons out of her home in Houston's Willow Bend area. However, Job-1 for her was always caring for her family of five.

Her greatest gift to her children was her love of music.

We will always miss her.
