Lela Mae Winn Page, age 106 of Hockley, Texas, passed away on January 17, 2025.
Lela was born in Marquez, TX. with her siblings, Welton (Bubba), Laura, her twin sister Lena Fae and Eula and Obie. While attending school there, Lela played baseball, even making state championship.
She met M.L. (Buddy) in Houston where they married in 1939 and raised their children. She enjoyed riding horses while checking cattle on weekends. After M.L. retired, they built their home in Hockley on Page Ranch.
Lela volunteered for several years at Spring Branch Hospital. She was recognized for volunteering weekly at Holleman Elementary School for many years. After M.L. passed, never one to sit idle, Lela busied herself in her vegetable and rose gardens. A faithful member of the Church of Christ, Lela attended the church at Pearce and Baldwin, Bingle Rd and Neuens Rd in Houston and at Waller. She is now safe in the arms of the Savior.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years M. L. Page; her parents Marion and Nettie Winn; all her siblings and her husband's siblings.
Lela is survived by her son Wallace and wife Geri; daughters Jeannette Lavin, Paulette Harris and husband David (deceased), Rhonda Jordan and husband Doug; grandchildren Steve and wife Michelle, Robby and wife Joni, Davida and husband Josh, Clint and wife Kim, Jessica and husband Brad, Julie and husband Keith, Cari, Michael and wife Jessica; as well as numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Page, Clint Harris, Brad Compton, Keith Thaemar, Josh Gomez and Robert Munsch.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 11am - 12pm at Canon Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 12pm with Andrew Lehmann officiating. A private burial will take place at Hegar Cemetery at a later time.
