Obituary

Leah Cothren, age 50 of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025. She was born on August 16, 1975, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.

Leah will be lovingly remembered for her kind heart, her gentle spirit, and the compassion she showed to everyone she met. Her strength and selfless love were a constant source of comfort and inspiration to those around her.

Leah's family remembers her as someone whose strength and resilience were quietly powerful. She approached life's challenges with grace and emerged with a deeper empathy for others. She valued authenticity and treated everyone she met with dignity and respect.

Leah is survived by her devoted husband, Alphus "Junior" Cothren, and her beloved son, Alphus "Hank" Cothren III. She is also survived by her parents, Fred and Robin Greenwood; her brother, Phillip Greenwood and his wife Mary; and her sister, Amy DeVoar and her husband Wesley.

She leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews: Amanda Hodgkinson and husband Jeremy, Taylor Greenwood, Tyler Greenwood and his wife Leah, Nathan Glaesmann, Bailey Glaesmann, and Sandri Pickette; along with numerous great nieces and great nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Leah was preceded in death by her youngest son, Frederick Blake Cothren, and her beloved grandparents, Oral and Norma Jean Greenwood.

Her love and laughter filled every room she entered, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to a charity of your choice, or that acts of kindness be made in Leah's memory.

Rest in peace Leah. Your presence enriched our lives, and the memory of your love will remain with us always. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
