It is with great sadness that the family of Laura ("Lori") Jean Chambers Gartman announces her passing after a courageous fight with cancer on Monday, December 12, 2022, at the age of 76 years old. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 26, 1946, in Akron, Ohio to her loving parents, Robert and Betty Hurd. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Robert and Betty Hurd, and the True Love of her life, A, B. Gartman.

She leaves to cherish the sweet memories of her life and her love for her children (Teresa Wilson, Russell Chambers and his wife Beth, Nita Rochen and her husband James, and Tony Comeaux), and her 6 grandchildren (Cassidy and Dakota Rochen and Anthony, Dustin, Heidie and Lori Comeaux).

At the great age of 40 and after raising her children, she attended and graduated college to fulfill her life's dream of becoming an R.N.

She loved, fishing, cooking, gathering with her family and friends, oil painting, traveling, Bible study, and taking care of her family. Laura ALWAYS sacrificed her needs for the good of her loved ones.

Laura will be remembered as a selfless mother and friend who ALWAYS had a smile on her face, even when the times were rough. She truly lived her life to fullest by appreciating the simple pleasures. Her favorite Bible verse was 1 Corinthians 16:14 " Let all that you do be done in love ."

Laura is in the care of Canon Funeral Home.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at St. John's Lutheran Church located at 1613 Key Street, Waller, Texas 77484 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
