Kay Turner Graves passed away on Sept. 5, 2014. Born in Stephenville, TX on June 27, 1931, Kay was an Eagle Scout and a Philmont Scout Ranch guide. He attended Texas A&M on football scholarship and commanded Squadron 8B in the Corps of Cadets, graduating in 1953. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in Japan. Kay was a high school coach for 20 years, and was head football coach and athletic director at La Porte High School. Later, he was a Houston-area real estate broker for 30 years and was co-owner of Frey-Graves Real Estate in Tomball. Kay was a 22-year member of Bible Study Fellowship and a teaching leader for 12 years. He was a proud Texas Aggie, an avid historian and a master storyteller. He was known for his integrity, friendliness and optimism. Kay is predeceased by his parents, Doyle and Janie Graves, his twin brother, Ray (and sister-in-law Martha) Graves. He survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Ann Graves; children Russ (and Sondra) Graves, Ruth (and Charlie) Fields, and Christie Graves; his brother, Roger (and Carolyn) Graves; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation and a time of remembrance will be on Friday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. at Central Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held on Sat., Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. at the Champion Forest Baptist Church chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association or the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
