Joe Carranza, age 46, of Waller, Texas passed away on September 2, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents James Carranza and Susan Chandler; uncles Tomas Carranza, Fernando Carranza, Johnny Chandler, Ed Brenner Sr., aunts Martha Haneline, Hilda Dedmon, cousins Eddie Brenner Jr., and Laura Arnold. He is survived by his wife Amy Laughlin Carranza; son Colby Carranza; daughter Rylie Carranza; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Joe met and married the love of his life Amy Laughlin Carranza during their years at Texas Tech University. In addition to their love, Joe was proud to be Dad for Colby and Rylie. He was often found supporting them in their numerous activities in every season of life. These included tasks like honey do lists, school errands, and titles like rodeo dad, football coach, community member and too many more to list all of them. Amy, Colby, and Rylie will always cherish the love of their husband and father.

Joe always enjoyed a good game, whether it was the Conroe Tigers (HS Alma Mater), Texas Tech Red Raiders, Waller Bulldogs, or the many youth sports team he coached and supported over the years. Joe made countless memories hunting and fishing with friends and family. Many days were spent in South Texas and venturing on the Texas bays. As a proud member of Delta Sigma Phi during his days at Texas Tech University, Joe continued to maintain close friendships with many fraternity brothers.

Joe was an active member of the West Houston Church of Christ, where he enjoyed many loving relationships to this day, his family continues to cherish these friendships. Some of Joe's strongest spiritual gifts were extending laughter and encouragement to everyone he met. For all who knew Joe, they remember his charismatic demeanor which led to a career in Real Estate. Joe was always able to bring joy and humor to a gathering. Even greater, his caring heart was never hesitant to support and help anyone in need.

Family and Friends will gather at the West Houston Church of Christ on Saturday, September 11 at 2 PM for a celebratory memorial service.
