John Charles (Sonny) Tisdale finally succeeded in his quest to stop smoking on May 4, 2016. He was the first child of Nancy and Buddy Tisdale, born on January 1, 1961. He would tell you that everyone celebrated his birthday, because it was designated a "national holiday"!!!

At a very young age, he became passionate about anything motorized. This passion was passed on to his children and grandchildren. He really enjoyed watching motorsports (especially NASCAR), other sports, (he got really riled up if the Astros played badly) and he enjoyed being outdoors.

Sonny was a rebel of sorts, he marched to the beat of a different drum, but toward the end of his life, he seemed to settle down and some of his most memorable times were spent with his Uncle Jim, "Bird" (his Uncle Jay) and Smokey.

In the late years of his life, Sonny's biggest joy was spending time with his kids and grandkids!

Now he is in Heaven, making up for lost time with his family that has gone before him.

Sonny is survived by his parents Nancy and Buddy, sister Julie, brother Joel, his children Jessica, Jeremy, Jason and Jared, daughter-in-laws Sarai and Crystal, grandchildren Alicen, Adaline, Cameron, Jordan, Jaycie, Moriah and Caiden.
