Jessie Alewine Dye, age 67 of Houston, passed away on March 11, 2024.

Jessie graduated from Jersey Village High School and worked several jobs after graduation including A & R Services with his Dad Archie (Pa), Cameron Iron Works, as well as an over the road truck driver until being hired on at Harris County where he hauled heavy equipment. Jessie very proudly continued his employment with the county for almost 38 years and retired January 31, 2022. In Jessie's younger years, he enjoyed participating in the small county rodeos where he would participate in his favorite event of steer wrestling. He loved horses and the simple things in life and was a collector of many things just like his Daddy. Jessie had a kind heart and was the type of man that would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He is loved by many and will be deeply missed. He knew the Lord and had accepted Him as His Lord and Savior many years ago. We find comfort and peace in that alone. Jessie loved his family and cherished his children, Jessica & Bubba and Son-In-law Henry as well as his grandchildren Kensley & Kash.

He is preceded in death by his parents Archie and Rosetta Dye; brother Jerry Dye; aunt Gypsie Stricklin; and cousin Sydney Stricklin.

Jessie is survived by his son Jessie "Bubba" Dye; daughter Jessica Blevins and husband (and favorite son-in-law) Henry; brother Larry Dye and wife Karen; sisters Beverly Mitchell, Brenda Albright and Terry; grandchildren Kensley and Kash; aunt Jessie Mae; special cousins Jeffrey, Dora Lee, Charles and wife Debbie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 1-3 pm at Canon Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3pm with Leland Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow at Canon Mathis Cemetery.
