Jesse Sanders, age 75 passed away on September 17, 2022. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jesse and Anna Maxine Sanders and his brother, Gary Sanders.

Jesse is survived by the love of his life, his high school sweetheart and wife of 56 years, Judy; his son Chris Sanders and wife Janet Sanders; his daughter Angie Avery and spouse Kevin Davis; his sister Tanya Simon; his grandchildren Joey Sanders, Austin Avery, Madison Avery and Natalie Bouwman and as well as so many other relatives and dear friends.

Jesse was born in Port Arthur, Texas in 1947 and grew up and attended school in the area until moving to Houston in 1972 with Judy and children. He and Judy eventually moved to the Hempstead area where they worked together to make their longtime dream of Longshadows Farm, a peaceful oasis they shared with all, and enjoyed the country life together for the past 27 years.

His long professional career included owning a residential and commercial construction business and working in the deep sea diving industry where he developed technologies for underwater pipeline repairs and is named on numerous US patents. He developed an oil and gas pipeline repair technologies business that he very proudly enjoyed working with his son Chris for the last 14 years. In the course of his career he worked in and touched the lives of people in more than 20 countries around the world.

His true passion was loving his family. He was wholeheartedly devoted to demonstrating his genuine love and appreciation of his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family and large circle of friends.

He also had a deep love and passion for collecting and restoring old cars, motorcycles and just about anything with wheels; he loved to transform the old and broken back to being appreciated and enjoyed once again. He was very involved in car clubs and genuinely adored attending specialty car events with friends who shared his passion.

Jesse was devoted to his church family and took an active leadership role in growing New Hope United Methodist Church, which was so dear to him. He is a true man of God.

He will be dearly missed but his presence is most definitely felt.
