Jeana Cooksey, 84, of Houston, Texas, peacefully left her earthly home on August 4, 2026 and went to her Heavenly home.
Born on April 23,1942 in Garden Grove, California, Jeana attended Sam Houston High School in Houston, Texas. She went on to build a career at Phillips Petroleum, and later had an almost 30-year career at Harris County, Precinct 5-2 as a court clerk. She was loved by her coworkers and was known for her dedication and vast knowledge in her field. Beyond her professional life, those that knew Jeana knew that her greatest joy was always her family. Beyond her immediate family there were so many that looked up to her as their own mother. Her gentle spirit resonated with so many. She had an incredible, unwavering faith. Her fervent prayers carried many loved ones through difficult times. In her words: “it is a privilege to pray for others”.
Jeana is survived by her daughters: Tammi Norris (David), Deenay Carlstrand (Clint) and Jodi Bell (Tracey). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Travis Norris, Colby Courtney, Taylor Carlstrand, Mason Bell, Jessica Carlstrand, Conor Bell and Caden Bell. Along with her five great-grandchildren: Kristen Norris, Brody Norris, Luna Norris, Liam Norris and Marlee Norris. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jessie Cooksey, and her sisters Alice Bailey, Patricia Kirkland, Betty Hanby and Janice Cummins.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday August 15th from 9:30 - 11:00 AM at Canon Coughlin Funeral Home 1420 Farr St. Waller, TX 77484. Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Field Store Cemetery 26100 Schneider Rd. Waller.
