James H. Thompson, Sr., age 90 of Cypress passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, O.T. and Hattie Thompson and wife, Vella Fae Thompson; and survived by his wife, Dolores Sparks; son, James Thompson, Jr. and wife Sharon; daughters, Julie Thompson and Michelle; Dianna Ward and husband David and Linda VandeGarde; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Thompson; grandchildren, Rusty Thompson, Brandy Gibson, Patricia Moellers, Bubba Ward, Michael Ward, Shawn Inabinette and Jessica VandeGarde; 11 great grandchildren, Avery, Zach, Rylee, Marshall, Jeremy, Joshua, Alyssa, Jacob, Darren, Danielle and Michael, Jr. as well as other family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Canon Funeral Home on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11am at Canon Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Waller Cemetery.
