James M. Ruf, age 80 of Hempstead, passed away on May 30, 2024.

James served over 20 years in the US Air Force. He served during the Vietnam War in Guam, Thailand and Korea. His stateside assignments were at Wright Patterson AFB and Bergstrom AFB. He retired at Langley AFB. Thank you James for your service!

He is preceded in death by his parents Max and Eleanor Ruf.

James is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Charlotte Ruf; sister Linda Darlene Kidd; cousins Ruth, Darlene; nephews Andrew, James, Patrick, Matthew; great niece Stacy; as well as many friends.

James is in the care of Canon Funeral Home.
