Hazel Rush, age 95 of Hempstead passed away on October 3, 2020. She is preceded in death by husband Jewell Stanley Rush; sister Dorothy Walker of Waco and is survived by son Bryan Rush and wife Gladys; daughter Donna Bell and husband Steve; grandchildren Ben Rush and wife Stacy Rush, Josh Rush, Melissa Bell Campbell and husband Ryan Campbell, Matt Rush and wife Leslie Rush, Jered Bell and wife Katie Bell; great grandchildren  Mape Rush, Hallie Bell, Jesse Bell, Henry Bell, Corb Rush; as well as many other relatives and friends.

"Hazel", "mom", "Meme" and "Grammy" Rush left many gifts to her family members and friends. Some of these included: a love for Jesus and His Word, an excitement about heaven, beautiful fine motor skills (her handwriting was amazing), a lovely lyric soprano voice and love for music, a tender love for animals, perseverance through pain, undying trust in Jesus despite hardships, a steadfast love for each person in her family, as well as a love and appreciation for wonderful friends, neighbors and caregivers.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 10th, 2020 from 5-7 pm at Canon Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be Sunday, October 11th, 2020 at 2 pm at Canon Funeral Home with Jered Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Canon Mathis Cemetery.
