Obituary

Gladys Fae Jaggers, age 94 of Brenham, Texas passed away on August 2, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jefferson and Laura Jaggers, five brothers and six sisters. Gladys is survived by her sisters, Mary Janice Brumlow and Ruby Brumlow; as well numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews and who will all miss the "twinkle" in her eyes and fun sense of humor.

Gladys was born in Hempstead, Texas on October 27, 1926. She graduated from Rosebud High School in Burlington,Texas, and worked as a telephone operator. After hearing that there was a need for nurses, she enrolled at Medical and Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in San Antonio, Texas where she graduated as a registered nurse in May of 1948. She worked in the Baptist Hospital in San Antonio and became a charge nurse with many responsibilities.

She loved "her" San Antonio and was an avid fan of "her" San Antonio Spurs basketball team.  She loved to travel and took many trips with friends in the United States as well as abroad.  She was an avid reader and  enjoyed receiving her favorite magazine, "The National Geographic" where she could explore the places and events she couldn't travel to.

Visitation will be Friday, August 6, 2021, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Canon Funeral Home, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am with Pastor Tom Dobbs officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Prairie View, Texas.

Due to Covid-19, wearing a mask and social distancing is recommended.
