Gerald Bronson "Buddy" Christopher, Sr. age 86 of Waller passed away on January 13, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Lucille Christopher; sister, Bonnie Brooks; wife, Barbara Jean Moss Christopher, daughter, Geraldine Christopher; and son, Billy Christopher. He is survived by his sons, Gerald Christopher, Jr., Daniel Christopher Sr.; daughter-in-law, Toni Christopher; daughters, Jean Fruge and husband Don Tullos, Charlotte Waybourn and husband Mike; brothers, James Christopher and wife Faye, Emil Don Christopher; sister, Elizabeth Hutson; grandchildren, Mike Mays and wife Crystal, Gerald Bronson Christopher III and wife Ashley, Jessica Evans and husband Chris, Brenna Jean Christopher, Cody Fruge and wife Meredith; Adam Fruge and wife Rebecca, Lyndsi Tullos, Kevin Tullos, Chad Christopher, Kaitlin Christopher, JuliAnne Melton and husband Craig, Lee Mundy, Haley Montez and husband Raul, Daniel Christopher, Jr., Dustin Christopher, Destinee Christopher and Daisy Christopher.

Buddy was the eldest of five children and grew up in Nacogdoches during the depression. He joined the Navy and met the love of his life Barbara Jean Moss while stationed in Seattle, they married, and he completed his tour of duty in the Korean War. He sent his navy paychecks home to his father to buy land. Upon his return from the war, he joined the Southern Pacific Railroad, following in his father's footsteps. They started their family in Houston and began Christopher & Son Cattle in Waller County in 1957. He eventually built a home and moved to Waller and raised 6 children there. He worked for the railroad until he lost his eyesight to glaucoma in his forties. Later he became the Ranch Foreman for the Town & Country Brangus Ranch.

Other than the Lord and his family, he loved the land and ranch life more than anything. He spent many years raising cattle & hay with his father at Lost Creek Ranch. After his father passed, he & his son, Billy, raised cattle together. He loved history and after his wife passed he taught himself how to use a computer and became an expert in geneology tracing his ancestors & family history. He was a member of Reids Prairie Baptist Church for many years and wrote a historical book about the church and the Fieldstore community based on the church records and his research. He took pride in the fact that he had 16 grandchildren and 18 Great grandchildren. He loved to garden and had a small orchard that he maintained into his late 80s. He was a simple man, but he loved BIG and knew what mattered: family, integrity, honesty, & above all else, the Lord.

Visitation will be Friday, January 19, 2018 from 5-8 pm at Canon Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00pm at New Hope United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Fieldstore Cemetery.
