Gary Ray Bain, age 57 of Hempstead, passed away on July 12, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Dolores Bain, grandparents, Howard and Irene Bain and Vivian Vance; and is survived by wife Debby Bain; sons, Steven Bain, Nolan Kimbrell, Willy Sapp; daughters, Melissa Sheffield, Becky Crawley; brother, Glenn Bain and wife Sheila; sisters, Karen Bostwick and husband Neal, Darla Effinger and husband Bob; special friend, Darlene Tandy; numerous grand-children, nephews and nieces as well as many other family members and friends.

Gary was born in Houston but spent most of his youth hunting and fishing in the Fieldstore community. Gary worked as a machinist for over 30 years. He, like his father, was very mechanical. Gary could fix anything but he was especially talented in auto mechanics. Gary's passion in his spare time was spending time on his boat and catching fish in the river. He also enjoyed hunting, camping and dancing. Gary will be remembered for his generosity, kindness and quick sense of humor.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 2pm at Fairview Whitehall Cemetery with Pastor Steve Shrock officiating.
