Garvis Lee "Jim" Hadley, age 82, passed away on December 6, 2019 in College Station, Texas. He was born October 27, 1937 in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Opal and R.T. Hadley, an older sister, Nova, and two brothers, Clayton and Judge. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Rother and husband Dennis, of College Station and his son, Andrew, of Houston; grandsons, Daniel and Tristan; sister Ramona Hollan, of Hempstead; plus, a host of family and friends.

Garvis was proud of the fact that he worked his way through college in San Marcos as "Gurpo", the clown, and the announcer in the submarine theater at Aquarena Springs.

Family and friends will gather at Old Salem Cemetery in Hempstead for a graveside service with Pastor John Brandt officiating on Thursday December 12, 2019 at 10am.
