Obituary

Fred Nathaniel Sargent of Hempstead, age 70, passed away peacefully on May 9th surrounded by loved ones, rejoicing to see his Savior and be reunited with his eldest son Duke.
Fred is survived by his wife, Joan Sargent, and daughters Sara Armstrong (Scott) and Samantha Seaton (Chris); his ex-wife, Judy Sargent, and their children Rick Sargent (Pam), Derreck Sargent (Gina) and Elesha Sargent. He was a loving grandfather to: Kelly, Kaitlyn, Daniel, Kasey, Emily, Kaden, Bridget, Christopher, Maegan, Patrick, Slade, Zane, Dean, and great grandson, Lexon.
Fred was born December 23, 1947 in Corry, Pennsylvania, the only child of Fred and Dorothy Sargent. He worked in construction during his early adult years and developed his own company. In his late twenties, Fred accepted Jesus into his life and moved his family to Ohio to attend Circleville Bible College and he later attended Vernnard Bible College in Iowa. During his time in ministry he pastored five churches from Pennsylvania to Texas. After retiring from ministry, he drove a fuel truck for Wellborn Petroleum where he was blessed to meet and marry Joan. Making Hempstead his home, he worked and retired from Waller County Road & Bridge, while sharing his abundance of love and laughter with friends and family.
Fred was known for his sense of humor, his love for coffee and dessert, working to stay fit, his strength, and his ability to fix anything. He also had a touch of stubbornness which became a Sargent family trait. Fred's love for God, family, and friends has impacted many lives and is his greatest legacy.
Visitation will be at First Baptist Hempstead on Saturday, May 12th from 4-5 pm followed by a celebration of life led by Pastor John Brandt.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Parkinson's Foundation or the church of your choice.
