Ellen Maurine Harrison passed away in the early morning hours of September 27, 2022, at the age of 84 due to complications from heart disease. She was born in Runnelstown, Mississippi on the 25 ^th of June 1938 to parents Ester Lillian and John Timothy Purvis.

Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd Bennett Harrison and grandson David Michael Platow. She is survived by her 5 children, Dale Harrison, Doug Harrison and his wife Connie, Darrell Harrison, Derlyn Harrison and his wife Ginger, and Deneen Harrison and her husband Paul. Maurine is also survived by sister Joyce Thornton and numerous nieces and nephews and 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was married to Floyd Bennet Harrison in June of 1957 in Houston, Texas, and had 5 children and remained with him until his untimely death in 1990. She was a homemaker and a life-long member of the Church of God Worldwide.

In addition to raising five children, Maurine had a passion for games, especially card games that she loved playing with family and friends and her computer games that she loved playing on her phone. She was also a talented musician, mastering many instruments during her lifetime from the clarinet and harmonica to mandolin and hammered dulcimer. She was also a talented painter who enjoyed painting colorful and serene portraits.

Her last many years of life were spent living with her daughter Tanya Deneen Harrison and her husband Paul Stanford and their large extended family. Her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, October 4, 2022, starting at 11:30am at the United Church of God facility located at 20737 Broze Rd, Humble, Texas 77338. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 12:30pm. She will be laid to rest at Brookside Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
