Edrie Mae Canon, age 86 of Magnolia passed away on May 22, 2025.

Edrie Mae was a member of the Tomball High School class of 1957. She worked at both Tomball High School and Stewart Elementary in Huntsville.

She was very active in the First Baptist Church in Tomball, and she made sure the girls were there every time the doors opened.

Edrie Mae loved to fish, but only when she was catching more fish than everyone else. She loved to read and passed that love of books to her girls. She loved her girls more than anything, until she had grandkids, then she loved them more than anything, until she had great grandkids…

In their 68 years and 7 months together, Lanny and Edrie Mae traveled to many places, had many adventures and were together through it all.

She is preceded in death by her father Bevy Bridwell (Beulah); mother Dollie Mae Hughes (Lewis); sister Hazel Williams; brother Benny Bridwell.

Edrie Mae is survived by her loving husband of 68 years and 7 months Lanny Canon; daughters Teresa Canon, Nancy Canon Darden, Kathy Canon Bitter and husband Larry; brothers Lloyd Hughes (Sharon), Bill Paul (Linda); sister-in-law Rose Canon; grandchildren Frank Darden IV (Devon), Meagan Hearen; great grandchildren Shelby Hearen, Quinn Darden, Millard Darden, Charlotte Canon, Landrie Darden, Ramsay Darden.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 9-11am at Canon Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 11am with Pastor Tom Dobbs officiating. Interment will follow at Canon Mathis Cemetery.
