Earline Knight
Mehrkam
May 25, 1927 — Apr 11, 2023
Earline Knight Mehrkam age 95, of Waller, TX went to her heavenly home on April 11, 2023. Her loving husband Welton was waiting for her with open arms; telling her he loved her "a whole world full". Earline's parents Hider and Ester Knight as well as siblings Marcelle Boney, Faye-Earline Knight, Mattie Pearl Knight, Sherrill Frank Knight, and Sub Jr. Knight were waiting in heaven to greet her with open arms.
Earline was born on May 25, 1927, in Oakhurst, TX. And grew up on a rural farm. This "country girl" ventured to the big city of Houston in 1945 at age 18 with a high school diploma, determination, and the willpower to succeed. She completed a business degree at Elliott Business College and met Welton Mehrkam from Waller, the love of her life, and married March 29, 1947.
Earline prided herself in being a loving, dedicated, patient, and fiercely protective mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an independent thinker, generous, kind, private, and very intelligent woman.
Her great love was sharing the family history by cataloging and compiling a large collection of family facts and photos totaling 25 volumes to share with future generations.
Earline is survived by daughters Venita Diane Mehrkam and Pamela Ann Saladino (Lenny); brother Karley Wayne Knight (Wanda)' sisters Estelle Seelhurst, Faye Carolyn Beene (Fred) and grandchildren Leslie Johanna Concors (Baron); Lauren Ann Crites (Chris) and Lindsey Leigh Gray (Erik). An extra special blessing was Earline's close relationships with great-grandchildren Caroline Crites, Carter Crites, Claire Crites, Beckett Concors, Zoë Concors, Gabriella Gray, Gavin Gray, and Giavanna Gray.
Special thanks to caregivers Rosa Alvarez and Sheila Herrera Randle for their loving care of sister Nita and mama Earline.
Graveside Services will be Monday April 17, 2023, at 10am at Canon Mathis Cemetery with Pastor Don Steadman officiating.
