Dorothy Lucille Duschinski, age 93, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024 in Katy, Texas with her loved ones by her side. Dorothy was born April 16, 1931 in Yoakum, Texas to Frederick and Emma Quast. She graduated from Milby High School in 1950 and went on to dedicate her life to being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Dorothy's life was lived in the service of the Lord, with kindness, grace, compassion, and the love of her family and friends. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hempstead. She was a blessing to all that knew her. In 1955, Dorothy met Joe Duschinski at a USO dance, and they were married the following year. Dorothy and Joe raised 3 children, Tom, Margaret, and Shirley while building a successful business and life together. They were able to spend 53 wonderful years in marriage until Joe's death in 2009.
Dorothy was proceeded in death by her husband Joe E. Duschinski, her parents Frederick Quast and Emma Wilson and husband CD, her siblings Lillian Thielemann and husband Ray, Mildred Ham and husband AB, Archie Quast and wife Jeanie, Alfred Quast and wife Reba, Ray Quast, JT Quast, brother-in-law Gary Tartt, and son-in-law Kenny Kindall.
She is survived by her children Tom Duschinski and wife Mary, Margaret Duschinski, and Shirley Kindall; sister-in-law Dorothy Tartt; cousin Ron Schumacher; grandchildren Jason Duschinski and wife Kim, Jenny Ketterer and husband Brian, Matt Duschinski and wife Amy, Jaclyn Hitchcock and husband Dave, Bryan Kindall, Casey Kindall and wife Cherie, Kyle Kindall and wife Melissa; and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday August 30, 2024 from 9:30-10:30am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hempstead. Funeral Services will follow at 10:30am with Pastor Darrin Trammell officiating. A private family interment will follow.
