Doris Faye
Jones
Nov 28, 1934 — Mar 12, 2023
Doris Faye Jones, age 88, of Leander, Texas went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 12, 2023. Doris Faye was born on November 28, 1934 in Hempstead, Texas to Fritz Fredrick and Willie Lou Kloecker. She was raised to value family and enjoyed the time spent through the years with all of her siblings. Family reunions, sister vacations, and holiday dinners were always important to her.
After graduating from Hempstead High School she went to work in Houston where she met her husband Harold in 1957. They married in April of 1958 and began a lifetime of love and happy memories.
Some of Doris' favorite times were those spent with her family. She especially enjoyed cooking for her kids and grandkids when they would come to visit. She would make whatever they asked her to make them, but everyone especially loved her various pies, homemade dinner rolls, and Christmas cookies. Other things she enjoyed were playing games, working puzzles, and crafting.
Her love of God was evidenced by the way she lived each and every day. She was a Sunday school and VBS teacher for many years and also participated in various activities such as serving in the food pantry.
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Harold Jones; parents Fritz and Willie Lou Kloecker; brothers Sam Kloecker, Fritz Kloecker Jr., Tom Kloecker, Robert Kloecker, Billy Kloecker, Charles Kloecker and sister Ola Marie Sledge. She is survived by her son, Dwayne Jones and wife Lisa; her daughter, Vicki Harwell and husband Brock; grandchildren Paige Harwell, Kayla Thomas, Dylan Harwell, and Emily Jones; brother August Kloecker; sisters Barbara Jean Horne, Nita Place, Linda Siptak, Donna Beth Pribble, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, March 17, 2023, from 5 - 7 pm. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 11 am at Canon Funeral Home with Terry McMahan officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery.
