Dorine Adelle Stanley, born Dorine Adelle McDonald, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 21, 2026, in Cypress, Texas. She was born on March 3, 1936, in Houston, Texas to the late Marian Herbert & Marie (Lowry) McDonald, and lived a long life marked by devotion to her family, steady work, and care for others.
Dorine gave more than 25 years of service to Cy-Fair ISD, where she worked as a school bus driver and assisted in the cafeteria. Her connection to the district was especially meaningful, as it was also where she graduated from high school. Through her years of work, she became part of the daily lives of countless students and families, offering the kind of dependable presence that leaves a lasting impression. Dorine was a skilled painter and an excellent cook. She was the anchor point of her family and community.
Family was at the heart of Dorine’s life. She is survived by her daughter, Kim Grimes, and son-in-law, David Baker. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Hardy Stark, and her sisters-in-law, Raylene McDonald and Carol McDonald.
Her love and legacy continues through her grandchildren and the families they built: Wade and Mellissa Baker, Travis and Brittany Baker, Justin and Kelli Grimes, Kyle Grimes and Kathleen Morgan, and Chelsea and Jared Eyler. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Austin, Bailey, Gunner, Ayla, and Josie, who carry forward her family’s legacy with the joy of a younger generation.
Dorine was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Stanley; her son, Larry Stanley, her daughter, Sheryl Baker; her son-in-law, Chris Grimes; her brothers, Walter McDonald and Herbert McDonald; her sister, Jeanette Stark; and her sister Shirley Corliss and Shirley’s husband, Ted Corliss. Their memories remained part of the story of her life and the family she cherished so deeply.
Those who knew Dorine will remember a woman whose life was rooted in commitment, love, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
