Delbert Poe, age 92 of Hempstead, Texas passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Patsy Poe; and survived by his daughter Cynthia Pierce and husband Dan; brother, Alton Poe and wife Annetta; sister, Alice Poe; granddaughter, Summer and husband Dr. Andrew Russo; grandson, Matthew Skinner and wife Charlotte; great granddaughter, Lily Cate Skinner.

Mr. Poe was born April 8, 1924 on a cattle ranch in Gunsight, Texas. He served his country with honor as a US Marine during WWII. Working as a pipeliner, he and Patsy traveled extensively across the United States. All of his adult life, he proudly served his community as both a Mason and Shriner. With his true spirit of generosity, he taught many local children to fish at Poe's Catfish Ranch, a venture he and Patsy enjoyed in their twilight years.

A Graveside Service and interment will be Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 2pm at Canon Mathis Cemetery with Pastor Tom Dobbs officiating.
