Comer "Buddy" Hardy, age 99 of Alvin, TX passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017. He is preceded in death by parents, Elbert and Anna Belle Hardy, wife of 47 years, Bessie Hardy, Daughter, Sharon Hardy, brothers and sisters, Martha Tompkins, Elbert Hardy, Frank Hardy, Anna Myrtle Hardy, Leroy Hardy, John Hardy, Hilda Brown, William Hardy, Margaret Van Sant, and Robert Hardy; he is survived by son, Richard Hardy and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Meredith Vogel and husband Bobby, Amber Smith and husband Kyle; great grandchildren, Bobby Vogel Jr., Peyton, Marlee and Sadie Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Buddy was born in Waller, Texas. He was the 10th of 11 children born to Elbert and Anna Belle Hardy. While he was young, the family moved to Houston where he graduated from John H. Reagan High School. From 1941 - 1945, Buddy served in the U. S. Army as a Tech Sergeant, during WWII. His tour of duty took him to many now historic places such as Normandy, Northern France; Rhineland, Germany; Central Europe and The Ardennes.
He was a co-owner of Hardy's Egg Ranch and a member of Masonic Lodge 1053 in League City, Texas.
"Uncle Buddy", as he was affectionately called by many, was loved by all who knew him. Many great memories were made during time spent with family and friends at the beach in Gilchrist. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and was an avid golfer.

Visitation will be at Canon Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 5-7 pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10am at Canon Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Katy Ware officiating. Interment will follow at Kirby Chapel Cemetery.
