Clarence Leon Smith, age 89 of Hempstead passed away on July 28, 2025.

Clarence Leon loved Jesus and his family. He was a member of Church of Christ. He also had a love of hunting and fishing. He was a very simple man.

He is preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Shulak Smith; mother Bertha Mae Smith; father Clarence Ray Smith; sister Elaine Colyer; brother Clifford Smith.

Leon is survived by his daughters Gayle Knipe, Kathy Daw and husband Gary, Karen White and husband Chuck, Melissa Dickey and husband Lloyd, Susan Albarado and husband Mike; sister Patsy Skains Woods; grandchildren Danielle Dalton and husband Terry, Will Burney and wife Maddie, Katie Sowell and husband Jeremy, Kristin White, Jacob White, Jeremiah White and wife Whitney, Joey Dickey, Joshua Wilkins, Anastasia Albarado, Aleksandra Albarado; great grandchildren Ellie Burney, Bennett Sowell, Gideon White, Damian, Pandora and Ares Dalton, Haiden Dickey as well as other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 11am at Salem Cemetery, 17788 FM 531, Hallettsville, TX 77964.
