Obituary

Clarence Harris, age 93 of Waller, passed away on November 1, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Annie Harris; son Clarence "Bo" Harris; grandson Raymond "Ray" Killingsworth, Jr.; sisters Audrey Niedson, Myrtle "Dody" Ricks-Somerford, Willie Ruth Burton, Catherine Zafoot, Mildred Baskin; brothers James Harris, Ray Harris, Alex Harris; and is survived by wife Patricia Harris; son Roger "Steve" Harris and wife Darra; daughter Wanda Killingsworth Liberty; brother Roy Harris and wife Paula; grandchildren Christian Harris, Mindy Roebuck and husband Donnie, Keaton Harris and wife Kristie, Cory Harris and wife Michelle; great grandchildren Karson and Konner Harris, Kaci Roebuck as well as other relatives and friends.

Clarence owned his own electrical business in Navasota and Bryan in the 50,s. In the 60's, as an electrician he worked on the Humble Building (the tallest building in Houston at the time). He was Inspector for Electrical Engineering for Bernard Johnson Engineers from 1968 to 1978 and then went on to become Airport Engineer for the City of Houston. He managed the construction of improvements and maintenance at Ellington, Bush, and Hobby Airports and also managed the new construction of Terminal C at Bush until his retirement in 1988.

Clarence served in the Army Air Corps from May 1, 1943 until January 17, 1946 where he was stationed in France during WWII. He was presented the French Legion of Honor Award in 2012.

Clarence was a member of the Waller Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 2-5 pm at Canon Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11 am at Canon Funeral Home with Pastor Blake Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at Waller Cemetery.
