Cheryl Ann Stokley, age 78, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 10, 2026. She left this world comfortably in the home she loved, surrounded by her family.

Cheryl was born Cheryl Ann Canino on September 25, 1947, in Houston, Texas. She is now reunited in heaven with the love of her life, Ray C. Stokley. Cheryl and Ray met while working at National Oilwell. After graduating from Sam Houston High School, Cheryl began her career there as a mail clerk and worked her way up to the engineering department through dedication and hard work.

Before meeting Ray, Cheryl prayed for a man who would love her, promising God she would devote her life to caring for him. When her prayer was answered, Ray asked for her hand in marriage after three months, and they were married within six months. Cheryl faithfully kept her promise to God and to Ray for 54 beautiful years, until his passing on June 22, 2024. Together they built a life rooted in faith, love, and integrity.

Cheryl and Ray raised their children with a deep love for livestock and agriculture, spending countless miles on the road traveling to shows and events. Through these experiences, they instilled strong values, work ethic, and family bonds that continue through the generations.

In later years, Cheryl found joy in life's simple pleasures—a good Hallmark movie with popcorn, road trips with good company, and sharing great Mexican food with the people she loved most. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who created a home filled with warmth, love, and faith.

She is survived by her son, Ralph Stokley (Dezerea Cornell); daughter, Jennifer Long; grandchildren Chelsey Adams and her husband Hunter, Wyatt Schenck (Sadie Oliver), Cheyenne Schenck (Dylan Davis), Jadyn Stokley, and Keegan Stokley; and great-grandchildren Enola Schenck, Nora Mae Schenck, Waylon Schenck, and Taven Adams, as well as numerous cherished friends.

Cheryl's legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew her.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 4-6pm followed by the Memorial Services at 6pm Canon Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Dobbs officiating.
