Bryant Mathis, age 83 of Hempstead, passed away on September 5, 2018. He is preceded in death by parents, John and Minnie Mathis, brother John Edward, and Baby Mathis. He is survived by wife, Norma Mathis; daughters, Joyce Hester and husband Joe, Janis Brening and husband Ronald; stepsons, Steve Hutchinson and wife Shelia, Mike Hutchinson, Mark Hutchinson and wife Gina; brothers, Donald Mathis and wife Elva, Raymond Mathis and wife Bobbie; sister, Louise Crowhurst; grandchildren, April Carroll, Amanda Denley, Haley Hester, Leah Brening, Adam Brening, Hannah Brening; step grandchildren, Craig Hutchinson, Christian Hutchinson, Michelle Hutchinson, Felicia Hutchinson, Philip Hutchinson; great grandchildren, Bryant Carroll, Lincoln Carroll, Grant Carroll, Alexa Denley, Bryson Denley; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 1600 Joseph Rd, Bryan, TX 77802.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 5-7pm at Canon Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2 pm at Canon Funeral Home with Johnny Arnall officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Navasota.
