Beverly Joan Thompson Jones passed away on December 14, 2025, at 12:46 in the morning. She was called home by her Lord and Savior in the comfort of her home, under the care of Emerald Hospice, with her sister and husband by her side. Cremation was entrusted to Canon Funeral Home in Waller, Texas. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date in accordance with her wishes.

Beverly was born on March 4, 1936, in Hamburg, Iowa, the daughter of John Lawrence Thompson and Thelma Hudson Thompson. She was raised in Sidney, Iowa, with her older brother and younger sister. After graduating from Sidney High School, she moved to Shenandoah, Iowa, where she worked in accounting for Montgomery Ward. It was there that she met the love of her life, William R. Jones. It was love at first sight, and they were married on June 24, 1956.

Beverly and William lived in Iowa for many years while William, whom she always called Bob, worked as a supervisor for UPS. His job required them to move frequently throughout the state. During this time, Beverly worked as a seamstress for Van Ginkel Sporting Goods in Des Moines, Iowa. After William retired following 25 years with UPS, they returned to Shenandoah and acquired several rental properties, which they maintained for many years. In 1997, they moved to Cypress, Texas, to be closer to Beverly's sister, Janet Thompson Gress.

While living in Cypress, Beverly's lifelong love for sewing grew even stronger. She joined several sewing guilds and charity quilting groups and found great joy in sewing and in the friendships she made. She truly loved the time she spent with the women she met through those groups. Beverly and William were active in their church and also sponsored a young boy each year through Boys and Girls Country in Hockley, Texas.

In 2018, Beverly and William built a home in Waller, Texas, which became her final home. I know Beverly would want to thank all the people who were part of her life for their kindness and love. My sister was a gifted and deeply caring person, and I was truly blessed to have her in my life. This obituary does not come close to capturing all that she did or the heart she had. Anyone who knew her knew how much she cared. To everyone who was part of her life, she loved you dearly.

Bob and I continue on with heavy hearts. We miss her every day, but I feel her spirit with us daily, encouraging us to keep going until we meet again.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Richard Thompson. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, William R. Jones; her sister, Janet Thompson Gress; and family members Rhonda Gress; John and Tammy Gress; Alexis, Dylan, Theo, Christian, and Evyn Gress; Karen and Frank Roessler; Cheryl Thompson and Alan Young; John Thompson and Eric Thompson, along with others who may have been unintentionally missed. Because of her deep love for her fur babies, donations may be made to the ASPCA.
