Betty Ruth Tynes died peacefully in her sleep on May 16, 2025.

Born in Fort Worth on August 23, 1927, Ruth resided in Houston from 1950 until 2009 when she moved to the family ranch near Waller.

For 31 years Ruth was involved with MD Anderson Cancer Center, first as a volunteer, and later as Coordinator and Assistant Director of Volunteer Services.  She retired in 1992.

Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years,  Attorney Ed Tynes, Ruth is survived by their sons Patrick E. Tynes and his wife Jessica; Dr. Steven S. Tynes and wife Angeles; grandsons Scott Tynes and wife Meg,  Attorney Thomas L Tynes and wife Persie; great grandchildren Shelby and Walker Tynes.

A Private Service will be held for her under the direction of Canon Funeral Home.
