Obituary

Betty Rose Jarvis (nee Parks), 81, of Navasota, Texas, died July 8, 2015. She was born September 2, 1933, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, daughter of the late William and Mildred Parks. She was one of eight siblings. On November 12, 1950, she married Arlah Gene Jarvis.
Betty and Gene had four children, and Gene's career took the family all over the United States, living at various times in Missouri, New Jersey, California, and finally Texas, where they settled in 1969. Over the years Betty also worked outside the home as a key punch operator, cashier, truck driver and state park host. At their Texas home Betty looked after a large garden, horses, chickens, ducks, and Charolais cattle, as well as four kids. The arrival of grandchildren kept her busy making many beautiful crocheted afghans.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Arlah Gene Jarvis; twin sister, Letty and brothers Lawrence and Bud. Betty is survived by daughter Lee Jarvis of Phoenix, Az; her son Ed Jarvis and his wife Micki of Hempstead, Tx; her daughter Kathy and her husband Dan Hartman of Arlington, Tx; her daughter Jeanie and her husband David Dickinson of Cheyenne, Wy; her siblings Barbara, Cliff and DJ; and by 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 2 pm-5 pm at Canon Funeral Home,1420 Farr St, Waller, Tx, 77484. Funeral Services will follow at 7pm at Canon Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Dobbs officiating. Interment will be private.
