Bernell Elizabeth Kelley, age 89 of Hempstead, Texas passed away on August 20, 2021. Bernell Elizabeth was born October 26, 1931, to Dessa and Dewey McGee. Bernell married Britton Kelley and together had three sons, Britton Jr (Butch), James Michael (Mike) and Ronald Patrick (Ronnie). Bernell was a very talented professional artist for many years. Bernell taught art lessons to many in the Pine Island community. She also worked at the US Post Office. She and her husband Britton pastored many churches and retired from Pine Island Baptist Church after devoting much of their lives to serving their Lord.

Bernell is preceded in death by her parents Dessa and Dewey McGee, husband Britton Kelley, sons Butch and Mike, her sister Carol Henley and brothers Wayne and Lane McGee.

Bernell is survived by her sister Bernice Warren, son Ronnie Kelley and wife Sheryl, grandchildren Michelle Ziegleman and husband Cory; Ron Kelley Jr. and wife Crystal, Sandra Hintz and husband Brian, Amy Trlicek and husband Kenneth; Britt Kelley and wife Lori and granddaughter Shelley Kelley; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, August 23, 2021, at 10:am with Funeral Services following at 11: am at Canon Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Dobbs officiating. Interment will follow at   Canon Mathis Cemetery.
