Anita Jean Reinhardt Phillips, age 81 of Hempstead passed away on April 18, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ruth Reinhardt and her son, Raymond James Phillips, Jr. , and survived by her husband of 61 years, Raymond Phillips; children, Cindy L. Baker and husband Keith, James M. "Bubba" Phillips, and wife Karen, and Paul W. Phillips and wife Vicky L; grandchildren, Kristin N. Baker, Kaley Amber Council and husband Jonathan, Breanna Barry and husband Trevor, Kelton Phillips, Kade Phillips, P.J. Phillips and wife BreAnna and Presley Phillips; great grandchildren, Pasleigh Mae Phillips and Kaleb Samuel Council; brother, John Henry Reinhardt and wife Kathy and family.
On December 27, 1934 Anita Jean Reinhardt was born to Oscar and Ruth Reinhardt in Waller, Texas. She grew up in a loving home with her parents and only brother, John Henry. Anita graduated from Waller High School, where she enjoyed playing in the band and later attended Blinn College.
Anita married Raymond Phillips, the love of her life, on February 16, 1954. Together they raised three loving children on the Phillips Dairy, in Hempstead. The dairy was the family's way of life and she and the kids worked alongside Raymond for many years. She was a proud Nana, and enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up playing on the farm.
Visitation will be at Canon Funeral Home, Friday, April 22, 2016 from 9-11 am. Funeral Services will follow at 11 am, with Pastors Ed Wigger and Bob Craig officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.
