Amy Christine Cottongim Knight

Our ray of sunshine, Amy, passed away Friday, July 28th, 2023. She was born on March 22, 1971 in Provo, UT. At one year of age she became a Texan and began her journey of becoming a true Southern Bell.

Amy was the oldest of the six Cottongim siblings; Michael, Joseph, Lisa, Brian, and Benjamin. She loved them dearly and the families they created, bringing new sisters Rebecca, Lauren, and Ada into the Cottongim family. Amy adored her nieces and nephews and they were such a joy in her life. Amy graduated from Waller High School in 1989 and went on to earn both her bachelor's and her master's degree in accounting from Sam Houston University, finishing off her education as a certified CPA. Her greatest achievement and masterpiece in this life was becoming a mother to her beautiful daughter Cheney Lynn.

Amy is survived by her daughter, Cheney Lynn Shelton; Parents, LaDawn & Tom Cottongim; Brothers, Michael Cottongim, Joseph & Rebecca Cottongim, Brian & Lauren Cottongim, Benjamin & Ada Cottongim, and Sister Lisa Welch; Nephews; Eli, Trystan, Wesley, Cole, Grady and Lance; Nieces; Addison, Chloe and Lola. Along with many extended family members, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

Preceded in Death by Grandparents; Esker and Edna Cottongim, Glen and Jean Maisey

Services for Amy will be held Saturday, August 5th at 10:am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 10501 Mason Rd, Cypress, TX 77433.

Amy is in the care of Canon Funeral Home.
