Allen "Bing" Crosby, age 89 of Hempstead, born May 28, 1934, passed away on July 4, 2023.

He is preceded in death by parents Cecil & Theresa Crosby, sister Dorothy Brown and his loving wife, Gertrude "Trudy" Crosby of 66 years and 11 ½ months. Although he is greatly missed by all, we take great comfort that he is reunited with his wife, what a reunion!

Allen is survived by children: Trisha (Tracy) Templer, Karen (Roy) Dittfurth, Rodney (Tina) Crosby and Gina (Michael) Wilson; 13 grandchildren & 25 great grandchildren; nieces, nephew as well as numerous friends.Allen retired from Cameron Iron Works after 40 years of service and worked for CyFair Transportation a number of years.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 53 years. He was the Co-founder of Cypress Lodge #1423 & an Endowed Member as well as an Endowed Member of the Scottish Rite. In 2016 he proudly served as Worshipful Master at Hempstead Lodge #749.

At an early age he described himself as a "car nut" when his love for restoring cars lead him either to race or show cars. His 1927 Ford roadster "Daddy Rabbit" was featured in many magazines & won numerous trophies. He sold Daddy Rabbit & was proud to learn it was displayed in Days Gone By Museum in Portland, TN. He took his very 1st plane ride in 2019 to see & drive it! He currently was the proud owner of a 1932 Ford Sedan and 1955 Ford Truck that he also restored.

Serving as pallbearers are grandsons Jason Barron Ethridge, Kevin DeMoss, Jimmy Demoss, Allen Prine, Cody Crosby, Brandon Crosby and Cameron Crosby.

Visitation will be Friday, July 28, 2023, from 5-8pm at Canon Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 10AM. Interment will follow at Hempstead Cemetery.
